Girls Camp 2012

 Camp Hinckley lodge.

I was so glad Mandie could be there.  It is her last year as a camper.  Glad I have Jamie there for a few more years.  Just a few years ago I had 3 girls at a time at camp.  I kept waiting for Rachel and Em to go through the line, but they never did.  Those were in years past......

I think this was my favorite year cooking at girls camp.  This is a picture of me with Senali Strebble and Laura Beasley, who are Brittney Cribbs Strebble's sister in laws.  They are so fun to work with.  I wanted to put together this pineaple palm tree and Laura totally showed me how to do it.  She was amazing.  We had slush in the cups below with paper parasols. This was on bishop's night.  We had grilled teriyaki chicken and infallible rice and chinese chicken salad with all this cut up fruit with homemade rolls.  It was a hit.  The girls the next night made me a t-shirt and presented me with a poem and a camp name.  My camp name is "The Iron Chef."  I was tickled to death.  Can't wait for next year.

Washburn Family Reunion 2012

After going to Lake Powell, we went to visit Lauren and Jacob, and then we went to Rexburg to pick up Rachel and Emily and pick them up and take them to Nampa.

The girls had fun swimming in the hotel pool.

Dear Aunt Lori and Aunt Kelly  Two of the best women on the planet
Julie and Robbie--expecting their 6 child and we can see why......
The two Jen's   More great Washburn women.
 Emma and Jamie.
I drove to Salt Lake with Niki and Travis where Andrew picked me up. He left the reunion early so that he could take Emily and Rachel back to classes in Rexburg on time and then go do repairs at Jacob and Lauren's.
Aunt Heidi one of the other best women on the planet....and Uncle Ted.  Ted made some really great smoked meats while we were there.  The Rudders are great cooks.  Why I don't have pictures of Aunt Sonya and Aunt Becky, I don't know.  They are great women of the planet too.
The famous Luke.  Mandie can imitate him EXACTLY.
 Everyone loves Grandpa.
The wonderful Haderlie's

Houseboat Trip to Lake Powell June 2012

Our Trip to Lake Powell.  Andrew's brother Dan and his wife Heidi invited us to go on a a houseboat trip with their family to Lake Powell this summer.  What a fun time we had.  The boat was luxurious with everything one could want to be comfortable.  Many of the Idaho cousins came down including Austin, Matt, Brittney and Lindsey and Jim and some of his kids.  Dan also rented a boat and two jet ski's.  We were alone with just Jamie, since Mandie had elected to go on pioneer trek, which was where she needed to be.  It was good for her.  Below I am at the top of a tall sand dune we climbed to the top of twice.

Best cousins, Jamie and Emma, Sarah, Kate

 Me and wonderful Aunt Heidi

 Missionary soul sisters.

Gracie Mae let me read her the Ensign.  We all love Gracie Mae.
My hero.

August 2012

Christian is off to UCLA.  Emily and Rachel come home from their first semester at BYU-Idaho and are there to say good-bye to him.  This is his new home in Los Angeles, one block from campus.  He is working at the Fowler Museum and hopes to be a Musuem curator someday.

He is pointing to a Bruin flag you can't see in the picture.  We picked up a bunch of groceries for him before we left.

Before  Emily started nursing school at BYU-I we took a trip to San Diego/.  We took a walk on the Ocean Beach Pier, went to HoDads, went bike riding at Mission Bay, ate Cinnamon Rolls at a little beach place there, went to Phil's Barbeque, and went to Children's Beach in La Jolla and went Snorkeling.  The kids saw 2 octopus and  swam with baby seals.

Don't be crabby, Mandie.
